The CSU East Bay MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) College Prep Program supports students to develop their confidence, competence, and love of STEM by building a community that fosters curiosity and exploration. On Saturday, March 5th, Hillview Coding students competed against students from 8 other East Bay Jr. High Schools in a 60 min. coding challenge where they had to first debug a program and then create and code a program from scratch based on the prompt given. Our Warriors all did an outstanding job!
MESA is a club sponsored by CSU East Bay - currently rolled out to Ms. Viechec's Coding class but may be rolled out as an after school club next school year. We encourage Hillview students to join Coding for their elective or look for Club info posted next year. It starts in the fall and culminates with competitions every March (if not for COVID, we would have been actually going to Cal State East Bay to compete).
