• Parents and students:

Interested in taking an online class because you are interested in attending a four year college?

We currently offer A-G classes such as English 1-4, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, World History and U.S. History, to name a few, using an online provider by the name of "Advanced Academics".  All of these courses are approved by the University of California system and are similar in rigor to the courses offered at Pittsburg High.  These courses are designed for students who may have failed or received a "D" in one of the courses mentioned above and needs to retake it, but does not have time to do so during our summer school program.  An average of 100 students take one of these course online each year and the average completion time is 3 months (students may work on it at home in addition to the twice a week computer lab time that is required from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).  For more details please contact Ms. Jawanda, our head counselor, at 925-473-2390 ext. 7525.

** Science lab classes such as biology, chemistry and anatomy and physiology taken online will not be accepted by four year universities.  These are for graduation credit only.  Science lab classes must be taken in summer school or in our evening program. **
