We participated in the SkillsUSA regional contest for the first time in January 2012, in Hayward and Salinas. The contests we joined were Web Design, Architectural Drafting, Medical Terminology and Auto. Our students won the Web Design contest and qualified for the San Diego State competition.  

We repeated the same performance in 2013 and went to San Diego for the second time, with three Web Design teams and one Architectural Drafting contestant.

The experience and knowledge our students gained during preparations and contests were tremendous. Our students were exposed to very high standards from outside competitors and during the last two years we made huge progress, especially in Web Design, all due to the SkillsUSA competitions. We went so far with our desire to excel that we organized a trip to Apple Valley High School in Southern California (400 miles drive), to meet the winners in the State Web Design contest at their "home". They shared with us the "secrets" of their success and we raised our standards this year even more. Now our last year's contestants are very excited about going back to compete at state level again and win this time. However, whether they win or not, these students stand out by the huge experience they gain during preparation and competitions.
