Dear Students and Families,

After many years in biotechnology research and development, I am thrilled to be a high school science teacher. My goals are to guide you to a better understanding of science, math and engineering, to inspire many of you to careers in science or engineering, and to help all of you become thoughtful citizens. In this digital age when all of us are constantly bombarded with information from many different sources, it is more important than ever to understand how to evaluate and analyze information so that we can make informed decisions about our lives, our communities and our society.

More than 30 years experience directing the development of new diagnostic tests for infectious diseases, blood donor screening, oncology and genetic disorders at Roche Molecular Systems, Inc., Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., and Luminex Corporation.

Personal History

My wife, Michele, and I have been married for 32 years and have four children in their twenties. We relocated to the East Bay from New Jersey​ in 1999. Michele is a physician and the associate medical director of a public health clinic. We love hiking, sailing, music and dancing.
