Mr. Lary Barilleau

My name is Lary Barilleau and I have been teaching since 1996.  I started my career in 1989 as a teaching assistant at a middle school in Seattle, WA.  My first job teaching was 2 years in Kindergarten at Orca Alternative School eventually moving up to establish a 6th through 8th grade junior high school annex for the school.  The majority of my experience has been at the Junior High level. While in Seattle, I developed a state and national award-winning electives program for International cultural arts.  I have also taught in Palm Springs, CA and Riverside, CA and now am extremely excited to be welcomed into the Rancho Medanos Cougar Family.  Prior to teaching, I had a career as a professional percussionist in Jazz, Latin Jazz, Salsa and contemporary music styles.  I also compose original music and have been fortunate enough to be a Grammy Nominated musician and music producer.  My record Carmen’s Mambo was recorded in 2013 in San Francisco and Seattle and received excellent reviews.  My hobbies include studying the history of music in the United States since 1900, cooking ethnic foods, and playing jazz music.
