Ms. Annalise King
Hello Scholars and Parents!
My name is Annalise King and I am the music teacher at Heights. This is my second year at Heights and I am so excited to make music with all of our scholars in person! This is my fourth year of teaching music, and before teaching at Heights I taught TK-1st grade music and supported special education at a French immersion school in Oakland. I have also substitute taught all levels of music, including K-5 general music, 6-12th grade band, orchestra, and choir, and guitar and steel band! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. I also have five years of experience as a behavior technician through summer camp programs at the University of Washington Autism Center. When I’m not at school, I play trombone in the Oakland Community Women’s Orchestra and enjoy hiking and exploring the Bay!
One of my favorite parts about teaching is exploring music with students and creating meaningful connections with students. I am passionate about making sure every student in my class is supported in their educational experience. Even though we are faced with challenging circumstances this year, I am looking forward to creating musical experiences and connecting with students!
