Welcome Family and Scholars,

I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself. My name is Jeff Heath and I teach 7th grade science and 6th grade computer science (coding). I come from a long line of teachers including my mother, grandmother, and two siblings. I have a 9 year old son and I know how important your children are to you. This will be my first year teaching at MLK Jr., JRHS. I am so excited at the opportunity to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with our scholars, parents, and community. During these challenging times, I am committed to work diligently to ensure our scholars receive a rich and rigorous education in the sciences. These lessons will include; peer-to-peer collaboration, exciting videos, class discourse, hands-on labs, problem solving, how to justify claims with evidence and reasoning, and much more. My end goal for all of our scholars is to take them from a place of dependent learning to a place of independent learning so they can be successful and fulfilled adults. To get them to believe in themselves as much as we believe in them in a safe and engaging learning community.
