    Dear, Parents, Students and Black Diamond Community Members;

    We want to extend a warm welcome to each of our returning students and all of our new students and families to Black Diamond High School. This has been an extraordinary start of the school year for us after having been in a virtual setting for the past 18 months.
    There are so many new faces among our students and a few new faces with our teaching staff. What makes it even more interesting is not actually getting to see each other's faces behind our masks. Our students and staff strive to ensure a safe and healthy environment each day.
    We welcome Ms. Edna Cabrera our former Clerk II to her newest position as the Principal's Secretary. Our newest addition to the front office is Ms. Tracy our former Special Education Aide to the position of Clerk II.  Welcome to our new teaching staff: Ms. Anna Green our long time English Teacher is now our new Art Teacher,  and Ms. Jill Walker is teaching English.
    During these difficult times, all students are able to receive free breakfast, a mid-morning snack, and free lunch each day.  We are happy that many students are taking advantage of this opportunity.  As a reminder, all students are still required to wear masks daily and follow all safety health protocols.  We have a school nurse available Monday-Wednesday 8:30am - 11:15am that can see students with any health concerns.  On Thursdays our school district is providing free Covid-19 testing until 4:00pm. No appointment is required.
    Please make sure to reach out to your student's counselors and/or teachers if you have any questions or concerns especially for students that are anticipating graduation for the Class of 2022.
    Also, we would like to ensure that all parents have set up Parent Square. This is the way our entire school community will be communicating with parents. We are streamlining communication and will be directly contacting all our parents to help you set up Parent Square. Please let us know if you need assistance in setting this up.
    Thank you,
    David Sauceda
