My name is Miranda Viechec-Lingbaoan and I've been a teacher in P.U.S.D for 15 years.  I've been at Hillview for the last 10 years, and taught 4th Grade at Heights Elementary prior to coming to Hillview.  I teach 6th grade Warrior Success, English 6 and Beginning & Advanced Coding/Computer Science Discoveries.  I was Pittsburg Unified School District’s Teacher of the Year 2012-2013 and Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce's Educator of the Year 2013.

Additionally, I work in collaboration with the Contra Costa County Office of Education and Code.org to support teachers in Computer Science instruction from K-9 across the county and greater Bay Area and am the MESA Advisor for Hilliview Jr. High.  The MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) college prep program supports students to develop their confidence, competence, and love of STEM by building a community that fosters curiosity and exploration and is sponsored by California State University East Bay.
