Ms. Mariel Duran

Hello and Welcome to the College and Career Center! My Name is Ms. Mariel Duran, affectionately referred to as Ms. Mariel.  I have been serving the students at Pittsburg High School since 2019 as one of the College and Career Technicians. I have grown up in our Pittsburg community, attending Stoneman Elementary School, Central Junior High School, and graduating from Pittsburg High School in the Class of 2011.  After high school, I attended college at UC Berkeley and studied abroad in Italy for 1 year.  Feel free to ask me about my experiences!  I have always been passionate about education, social welfare, social justice, and community.  My goal as a college and career advisor is to reach as many scholars as possible to help them realize their dreams and assist them with reaching their goals.  Please know that my office is always a safe space for you to be yourself and plan for whatever it is YOU want to do.  This is not just a job for me but a true passion.

Hola y Bienvenidos al Centro de Colegio y Carrera! Mi nombre es Mariel Duran. Yo he trabajado en Pittsburg High School desde 2019 como consejera de Colegio y Carrera.  Yo crecí en la comunidad de Pittsburg, asistiendo el Stoneman Elementary, Central Junior High, y graduándome del Pittsburg High School el año de 2011.  Después del PHS, asistí al colegio de UC Berkeley y luego estudié en Italia por un año.  Pueden preguntarme sobre mis experiencias!  Siempre me he sentido apasionada por la educación, el beneficio social, la justicia social, y mi comunidad.  Mi meta como consejera de colegio y carrera es ayudar a los estudiantes a realizar sus sueños y metas.  Por favor sepan que mi oficina es un lugar seguro, donde pueden ser uno mismo sin miedo y planear lo que TU quieres hacer después del PHS.  Esto no solamente es un trabajo para mí; es mi apasionamiento.
