Hi, I’m Mr. Peña and I teach Aerospace, Commercial Drone Pilot (Aero-Drone Flyer), Engineering (GEARS) & Robotics (https://www.pittsburg.k12.ca.us/domain/1322) at Pittsburg High School’s GEAR (Green Engineering Academy & Robotics) Program.
I hold several science degrees including my Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from San Jose State University (http://www.sjsu.edu/avtech/) and my Master of Science degree in both Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering (https://aa.stanford.edu/) from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Engineering.
My work experiences includes 40 years within the Aerospace Industry, and that includes flying Air/Sea Search & Rescue on US Coast Guard helicopters (https://aoptero.org/) along with 30 years at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (https://www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/index.html) in Silicon Valley in various Engineering positions. After retiring as a Chief Engineer, I obtained my CA CTE (Career Technical Education) Credential and began initially volunteering and substitute teaching Engineering at a couple of local High Schools. Then I became a full time faculty member at Pittsburg High School.
I believe with my knowledge, education, and work experience I can share with my students the exciting and amazing field of Engineering.
