Ms. Amy K. Karhu

This is my third year teaching English at Pittsburg High School and I love it! Since becoming a teacher, I have taught in Florida, England, Connecticut, and California. I think I prefer the weather and students here in California the most. I received my undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and my master's degree in English Literature from Southern Connecticut State University. 

My husband Trevor Wigmore is British but has lived in America since before our son J. C. was born over 13 years ago.  We live in Brentwood with our two cats Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Ginsburg) and Eleanor Roosevelt (Ellie). 

I know this year is going to look different from what we are used to, but I am excited to be teaching here at Pittsburg. You really are the best!

Check out either AP English and Composition or English 3 for the syllabus which will give you information about signing up for Remind and what our focus will be for the year. Students will be able to access each Google Classroom through the Clever portal.
