Hello, I'm Barbara Martinez Shabaniani

Welcome to my website. I am currently teaching Spanish 1.  I have been teaching at Pittsburg for 10 years. 

As for my education, I hold a multiple and a single subject credential.  I received my Bachelors in Psychology and Spanish.

After graduation, I returned to receive my Masters in Psychology and Education. I also hold a Administration credential from CSUEB.

I started teaching 30 years ago in Danville, and have taught multiple grade levels and college courses throughout my career.   

Early in my teaching career I discovered that my favorite age group to teach is High School students.

Attention parents and Students! You will be given codes to access the following websites. 

I will be utilizing the following websites as my main communication tools.

I will have school announcements, the weekly class agenda, class assignments, resources and grades on these websites.

REMIND is a text messaging website for students and parents to ask questions or receive messages.

Google Classroom I will post assignments for students, where they can retrive and  submit completed assignments. 

Duolingo.com is a tool were students can practice using the language: speaking, reading and writing on a weekly bases.

Zoom.com I will use periodically to conduct class meetings and answer any outstanding questions. 

Flipgrid.com is a tool I will utilizing to have students conduct presentations. 

Aeries - Is used for attendance, logging assignments, grades, and communication with parents.
