Mr. Thomas Knight

I grew up outside of Minneapolis,  Minnesota.   Graduated from Rosemount High School, in Rosemount, Mn a very similar size school to PHS.  I then attended UC Berkeley majoring in Molecular and Cell  Biology: with an emphasis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  I earned my teaching credential from Cal State Hayward and started teaching Science in 1995.  I continued my scientific career working for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories doing research in Infrared micro spectroscopy at the Advanced Light Source and educational research for the Center for Science and Engineering Education for 15 years.  At my last school I served as science department chair, instructional coach, and union representative.   Over 3 years I served as an IISME curriculum coach helping teacher researchers write curriculum based on their fellowships.  In addition to education, I have worked in the wine industry in quality control, enology and winemaking.
