Mr. Scott W. Pygeorge MSEd ATC

 

Scott has been a member of the UCSF CHO Sports Medicine program since August 2013. Scott is a certified athletic trainer and in good standing with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, he passed the Board of Certification exam in 1990. His formal education includes a M.S. Ed. in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia 1990; a B.A. degree in Physical Education, with an emphasis in Exercise Science and a pattern in Athletic Training from California State University, Chico 1988; and holds a Designated Subject full-time Career Tech Education Credential through UC Berkeley Extension and CSU San Bernardino.

Scott's work experience spans over 30 years and includes collegiate, clinical outreach positions, and high school, and now with UCSF CHO Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes. He has extensive knowledge in injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation and has worked with athletes of all levels from Professionals, Olympians, Collegiate, and High School. Currently, Scott holds the position of Head Athletic Trainer at Pittsburg High School through Children’s Hospital and teaches ROP Sports Medicine full time at Pittsburg HS. He has been with Pittsburg HS since August 2013. Scott is an enthusiast of all sports and is an avid road cyclist. Scott is an East Bay native and lives in Concord with his wife Lori, and has two grown children Trevor and Brittani.
