Ms. Heath

I have been a teacher in the Pittsburg Unified School District since the 2003 school year. I spent my first 5 years teaching 2nd-12th grade students in Independent Study. I transferred to Marina Vista when it opened in 2008. I taught 5th grade for 6 years before moving to my current position in 3rd grade. I received my Bachelor's in education from CAL State East Bay in Hayward, and my Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership from Saint Mary's College in Moraga. I grew up in Livermore, CA, so I am very familar with the Bay Area and the people who live here. I love the Bay Area and the cultural diversity that we have here, so that's why I chose to stay and teach here. I come from a family of educators and people who have worked with the public. I have a passion for learning and helping people gain knowledge.

"There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning." -Jiddu Krishnamurti

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education." -Martin Luther King Jr.
