Ms. Andria Herrera

Welcome Pirate Family!

          My name is Ms. Herrera and I am currently an English and ELD teacher here at Pittsburg High School! I am a Pittsburg High School graduate and am very grateful to be back "home" to empower the next generation of pirates! During my time at Pitt, I was a member of the PHS Marching Show Band, the first Puente class, Leadership, Latinos Unidos, Key Club, and varsity tennis.

  After graduating from PHS I decided to go to DVC where I later transferred to UC Berkeley where I earned my B.A in Sociology. After graduating from Cal, I spent 6 years serving as a College and Career Counselor for high school students in the bay area and served as an external reader for UC Berkeley's  Office Of Undergraduate Admissions . My passion for writing and editing lead me to the world of teaching where I knew I could make an impact by empowering students to use their voice, feel welcome and receive the tools that will help them navigate the complexities of the world with compassion and empathy. 

  I am currently finishing my Masters program at Saint Mary's College In Moraga. In my free time I love to watch sports , workout , read and spend time with my boyfriend and our dog Pacino.
