Mr. Erick Valenzuela, M.A.

Welcome! My name is Erick Valenzuela and I teach the Basic ESL class at Pittsburg Adult Education Center. I completed my undergradute degree at the University of California, Davis where I studied Cultural Anthropology with a focus on Chicano studies and further studies in US/Mexico border relations. My interest and love for teaching ESL developed from my own cultural immersion expericences as a student in Morelia, Mexico. As a student of Cultural Studies I gained an in-depth understanding of the immigration experiences. It's with this appreciation that I hope to bring to the classroom as you learn how to speak English and immerse yourself in a new culture. Whether you are newly arrived to the United States or been here for decades,  I look forward to meeting every one of you as you begin your journey!
