Ms. Razo

I am originally from Long Beach, Ca. Prior to seeking a career in teaching, I was an instructional aid for six years. The first three years were spent in a second-grade elementary classroom and the latter three in a high school continuation classroom. I attended the University of California, Irvine, where I received a B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies. I continued at UCI as a graduate student to receive a Masters in the Art of Teaching. This will be my eighth-year teaching History and my seventh year at Hillview.  

I strongly believe that success is a process. It is accessible to everyone that is willing to accept failure as a temporary state and is willing to plan out how they will try again.    

Our goal this year is to learn transferable skills through the lens of history, which will help students beyond the classroom. That is, Not what to think but how to think i.e. Argumentation, Contextualization, Sourcing, Recognizing bias, Questioning, Collaboration, Presenting, Summarizing, Writing, etc.
