AVAILABLE FOR THE 2020-2021 TAX YEAR
Must be filed by May 31, 2020, to be effective for the 2020-21 Tax Year
Pittsburg-Senior Citizens who own and occupy a home in Pittsburg can still apply for exemption from the Pittsburg Unified School District’s Measure S Parcel Tax passed by voters in November 2016. Citizens who have been determined to be disabled by the Social Security Administration and receive Supplemental Security Income must complete a simple form to be exempt from paying the yearly parcel tax associated with the passage of Measure S.
In order to be eligible for the exemption in 2020-21, homeowners must certify that:
--they have been determined to be disabled by the Social Security Administration and receive Supplemental Security Income as a result.
--the property listed on the application is their permanent residence.
--they have claimed the “homeowner’s exemption” for the property on my application.
If you are exempt from the parcel tax in previous years, you DO NOT need to do it again. The exemption is good for the life of the parcel tax which is 2024.
The form can be accessed below. For a paper copy of the form, contact Business Services at (925) 473-2334, please leave your name and address and a form will be mailed out to you.
