Ms. Gretchen Medel
A graduate of the U.C. Davis with additional education from U.C. Berkeley, I have been teaching in the medical field for seven years. I transitioned from the corporate world to EMS when I became an EMT in 2008, fulfilling a life long passion to work on a 911 ambulance. Entering education in 2013, my passion evolved into equiping students with the tools necessary to respond with confidence and determination to any emergency situation, ultimately making a difference in the lives of those around them. I teach at the adult education, high school and college levels and am passionate about inspiring students to be the best they can be.
At PAEC, I currently teach in the areas of Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Emergency Medical First Responder and CPR instruction. Students who take the First Responder class receive a certificate which prepares them for career pathways in the medical field and provides an excellent foundation for EMT courses offered at local community colleges and adult education centers.
I believe that all students can achieve their goals for post-secondary education and future career paths and fully support the students in their endeavors.
