HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OVERVIEW

Heights Elementary School originally opened it's doors in 1953 and the new school site opening for the 2014-2015 school year.
- The total floor area of the current school has 72,958 square feet.
- The current enrollment for the 2016-17 school year is 656 students.
- There are two solar sub-arrays at the sight, with an annual production of over 177,600 kW of energy each year for the school.
On August 14, 2013, Pittsburg Unified School District broke ground for the new Heights Elementary School building.- The new school building was funded with Measure L bond funds.
- The athletic fields and parking areas were completed in January, 2015.
The granite statue of a bear that sits in front of the school weighs 8.5 tons and was created by the famous sculptor Benjamin "Benny" Bufano in 1961.
