Mrs. Joanna Aragon, MS, PPS

I'm excited to be starting my 34th year as a School Counselor in the Pittsburg Unified School District, but my first year at Black Diamond High School.  I worked at Hillview Junior High for over 16 years and I'm so happy to see many of my former students here at Black Diamond.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religion from St. Olaf College and my Master of Science degree in Counseling and Mental Health and PPS credential from Cal State Hayward (now called Cal State East Bay).  I also received my Multiple Subject teaching credential from St. Mary's College of California.  I have earned the following specialist certificates from the American School Counselor Association:   Career Development Specialist,  School Counseling Leadership Specialist, and Bullying Prevention Specialist.  In addition to my work at Black Diamond, I work as an adjunct professor for Concordia University Irvine where I teach future school counselors.

I live in Pittsburg with my husband, daughter, and two dogs and love to go camping in our fifth wheel!
