    Hi Families-

Hope you all had a great weekend!  The plans for this week are to follow.  This is the link to see what we will be working on…

How do things get built?  www.theteachersguide.com/firstgradewondersunitfiveweekfive/unitfiveweekfivettg.pdf

    Optional Learning Packet:

    https://www.education.com/download/workbook/174889/independent-study-packet-1st-grade-week-6.pdf

This past week felt like a learning week all the way around!  Our grading will look different for Trimester 3 in that you will be given a mark of either “Met Expectations” or “Limited to no Contact”.  If you are only working on packets, please take a picture and post to ClassDojo.  I would save everything that your child is doing during this time.  Please be sure you are checking in with me daily, either via Zoom, email (kcoffman@pittsburg.k12.ca.us) or via ClassDojo.  I can’t stress these last few sentences enough.  I have to hear from you in one of these forms.  I am trying to simplify weekly lesson plans, so you can work in your writing journals, and related workbooks for the week.  Snap a quick picture on your phone and send it to me.  In ClassDojo there is a portfolio area where you can communicate with me, show me what your child has been doing.  Be sure to go to the Stories area for all events and Zoom information.  You will find the log in for the Zoom session and the materials that you need for that session.  Make sure to have pizza boxes on hand when we Zoom as that is where their materials should be kept.  These sessions give you a bit of a break, too!  Please be sure that you can access everything through Clever as this is another way to check in daily with me.  I can see who has logged in and who has not.

Stay in touch!  Please reach out if you need my help.  We are in this together.  Stay Well!

    :) Mrs. Coffman

    Monday April 20 - Friday April 24, 2020

    Hi Families-

Welcome back from Spring Break!  I can’t wait to hear about all the fun that you had.

The plans for this week are to follow.  This is the link to see what we will be working on...Sounds!

This is your To Do List for Wonders (McGrawHill icon in Clever)

    Optional Learning Packet:

    https://www.education.com/download/workbook/174878/independent-study-packet-1st-grade-week-5.pdf

We will jump back into our lessons this week!  I made slight changes to the format of the lesson plans, in hopes that you are able to read and understand it better.   I hope you were able to get onto Clever and were able to access all of the apps.  I pulled McGrawHill (Wonders) and Zoom apps onto the same as RAZ Kids- chick icon; I also added Imagine Math app to the others under the owl icon.  Please be sure that you can access everything through Clever.

Zoom Power Hour  When we return from Spring Break, we will be meeting via Zoom on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:50 to Noon.  The timing is different, but it was suggested to start at a time that was not common due to the volume of Zoom users.  I will send the meeting notifications through ClassDojo.  Parents, please review the lesson plans and we can talk at the start of our Monday Zoom meeting to clarify anything that comes up.  My plan is to do mini lessons- ½ hour of ELA and a ½ hour of Math.  This is still being figured out on my part!  If you could set your child up with access to paper, a pencil and crayons while we are on our Zoom call, that would be great!  We will be doing some writing, show me games and such so they will need to be able to do this.  Monday’s call will be to see what we can and can’t do, then to go from there!  I am sure that we all are about to learn a lot!!

Throughout the lesson plan, you will see a (Z) next to a task.  This means that we will cover this in our Zoom Meeting.  Wednesday’s will remain UnPlug Days.  This is all subject to change as we move forward, keeping in mind what is best for your child and family.  Please communicate with me any questions, problems or suggestions.  We are all learning here!

Looking forward to “seeing” everyone soon!  Stay Well!

    :) Mrs. Coffman

  • Lesson Plans April 6-10, 2020

Posted by Kelli Coffman on 5/1/2020

    Monday April 6 - Friday April 10, 2020

    Hi Families-

The plans for this week are to follow.  This is the link to see what we will be working on...Inventions!

    http://www.theteachersguide.com/firstgradewondersunitfiveweekthree/unitfiveweekthreettg.pdf

The page that comes up is the one that we used in our homework, telling you the Unit/Week we are on- Unit 5/Week 3; the special spellings or, oar, ore; spelling words; stories (through Zoom) that we will read together; Genre...remember?!

This is the next resource that can be accessed directly through the web page.  If possible, you may want to print. If unable to print, please complete on regular paper.  Typing and emailing will work, too!  For this week, here is the link for the packet that we will be working with. This packet is totally optional-

    https://www.education.com/download/workbook/174810/independent-study-packet-1st-grade-week-2.pdf

Parents- the first 3 pages of the above document is for you.  Please read to familiarize yourself with the packet.

If possible, print the packet. If not able to print, please complete as best as you can.

Day 1 of Spring Break is this Friday April 10.   We return to Remote Learning on Monday April 20, 2020

During the break, read! Everything! Play board games, have family breakfast, lunches and/or dinners, play outside, log into Clever, do any work that didn’t get finished from last week or the week before, or…

    just enjoy your time together.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy break!
