  • Physical Education Journal:

    At the top right corner of each new page write your name, first and last.  Underneath that write your grade level this year and below that this years teacher.

    For example:

    On the left side of the paper next to the red line 2nd line from the top write the date :

                        number of the month / number of the day / and the year         

    For example:            04                 /             20            /        2020



    Skip a line and write in information for the day.  How much sleep did you get?   

    An Example on how to figure it out:   

        If I went to sleep at 10pm and got up at 6am.  Starting at 10pm to 11 pm count it as an hour, so sleeping at 10 pm, count 11 pm is an hour , midnight is 2 hours, 1 am is 3 hours, 2 am is 4 hours, 3 am is 5 hours, 4 am is 6 hours, 5 am is 7 hours and 6 am is when I woke up, thats 8 hours of sleep.


         I went to sleep at 10pm and got up at 6am.  Starting with my left thumb to my pinky i count 11pm (thumb), midnight (index finger or pointer), 1 am (long finger), 2 am (left ring finger),

    3 am (pinky), 4 am (right thumb), 5 am (right index finger or pointer) 6 am (right long finger).  Now how many phalanges are you holding up?  This is how many hours you slept.


    How many glasses of water did you drink? 

    ounces = oz. on a can or bottle

    A glass of water is 8 oz.   

    A can of soda is 12 oz. 

    Mr. ELs' water bottle holds 64 oz. on a cool day he drinks about 32 oz which is about 4 glasses.  On hot days or when he works out he drinks the whole bottle or more if its really hot.

    What types of excercise or play did you participate in for the day and for how long?

    Light excersize - is 45 minutes of walking around without stopping, throwing the ball for your dog, playing with your cat,  

    Moderate excersize - is 30 minutes of jogging without stopping, riding your bike around the block a couple times, cleaning your house, washing the car, chasing around your toddler brother or sister, danced til i got caught 

    Heavy excersize - 15 minutes of running without stopping, mowing the lawn, chasing your parent, 


    Your journal Entries should look something like this:

    Water:   16 oz.

    Walked for 45 minutes


    Keep track for the rest of the year.  Turn them in the first day of PE   2020 - 2021

    A notebook, a stack of paper stapled together or paper clipped at the top left corner of the papers.

    Let's not waste paper fold your paper in half like a hot dog, fold it in half again.  Now open it up.  There are now 4 neat rows to keep your journal in.  Once the front page is full, turn it over and use the back.  

    Stay safe, get enough sleep, drink your water and exercise each day.
