• Welcome to Restorative Justice

Rooted in century-old understandings and practices of indigenous communities, the purpose of Restorative Justice on campus is to create a necessary paradigm shift in terms of how our school communities respond to discipline and conflict prevention and resolution. Restorative practices aim to interrupt the damaging effects of zero-tolerance ideologies by providing a functional, equitable alternative. The focus of RJ is healing and repairing harm instead of punishment and vengeance. Restorative Justice combats racial inequality by offering a meaningful alternative to punitive disciplinary systems that disproportionately affect minority youth.
