Brief Biography

I joined Pittsburg High School in 2014. From and early age,I aways wanted to be a teacher. While growing up, key teachers in my life inspired and encouraged me. They let me know that I could create my own future if I was willing to work hard. They made a difference in my life and I wanted to make a difference in the lives of young people as well. Unfortunately, when I graduaed from college with B.A in Political Science , there were few teaching positions available. Subsequently, I took a position with a major pharmaceutical company and worked 27 years in the health care field coordinating educational programs. Along the way, I also spent a great deal of time working with high school youth in my church and as a baseball coach in youth sports. Eventually, I took an early retirement from the health care industry and earned an Education Specialist Credential from Brandman University. Having raised a special needs child myself, I decided to earn a teaching credential in Special Education. I have found this field to be incredibly rewarding. I have a multi-subject background and have enjoyed co-teaching and supporting students in Geometry during my time here at Pittsburg High School.
