Hello and Welcome!
Throughout my childhood I always knew I wanted to work with children and help make a difference in their lives. I have a passion for mission trips and have traveled to El Salvador, Mexico, Africa, and was involved in the clean up of Hurricane. Katrina. While I was working towards my teaching degree, I was active in the youth ministry program at my church and worked in a daycare center.
I have 2 amazing boys, a wonderful husband, and a mini Golden Doodle named Moose. I was raised in southern California and attended the University of Texas. Then, in 2014 I moved to the bay area to be close to family.
I was so lucky to be hired at LME and work with such an amazing community! I have been a second-grade teacher at Los Medanos since 2014. After being hired, I obtained a master’s degree and an admin credential from Cal State University. As an educator, I believe that we never stop learning.
It is my mission to instill a love for learning in your child in a fun and engaging way! I attempt to teach with a passion for my subject, so that my students develop a desire to become a life-long learner. I feel parental involvement is instrumental to a child’s success in school. I look forward to working with you, so that together, we can help your child succeed.

Hello and welcome to my CLASS HIVE!

I have been teaching second grade at Los Medanos Elementary since 2013 and I am a proud Pittsburg native. After graduating Pittsburg High School, I moved to San Diego where I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Diego State University in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Children’s Theater. I also attained my Master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University in Digital Technology in the classroom.

After earning my degrees, I had the opportunity to travel the world and gain opportunities to work with children of all different cultures and learning styles. I lived in several different cities only to find out how much I missed and appreciated the diversity of my hometown. I wanted nothing more than to give back to the community that has invested so much in me.

It is my goal that my students’ school year is filled with lifelong memories, critical thinking, character development, and of course,  FUN! I believe that it takes a community to help develop and build a child; therefore, it is my desire to work closely with you and your family this year to ensure that your child reaches academic and social success!

Please feel free to contact me by email at Dmallari@Pittsburg.k12.ca.us or follow my teaching journey on IG @MsHoneysClassHive. If you are a student/parent of mine, join our class Remind by texting 81010 to Room7Hive.

I'm looking forward to connecting with you!
