  • New and returning Board members, De’Shawn Woolridge, Duane Smith, and Joe Arenivar,  were sworn into office at the December 10th Board meeting. Mayor Pete Longmire administered the Oath. Duane Smith became the new Board President and Joe Arenivar the Vice President.

    The Local Control Funding Formula represents the most significant change in California’s funding system for K-12 schools in four decades. It is the central feature of landmark legislation— Assembly Bill 97—currently being implemented in every California school district. It will affect every school in the state, including charter schools.

  • Pittsburg Unified School District programs, activities, and practices shall be free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. This applies to all acts related to school activity or attendance within a school under the jurisdiction of the superintendent of the school district.
