Parkside Elementary School is supporting Child Safety Awareness Month by encouraging parents to visit http://www.bepreparednotscared.info This is a resource approved by the California Department of Education for parents. The web site provides information on child ID kits that allow parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian. If ever needed, the child ID Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts to locate a missing child.

Parkside Elementary School is excited about this school year. We have implemented a new assessment program that gives us detailed information on each of our students. Together with our parents we will use this information to put together an effective learning plan for each student. Our goals are; the challenge of keeping our proficient students proficient and bringing up our below proficient students. Every student is different and thus their learning style is different. By using different teaching modalities we can meet the needs of our students. At Parkside we cherish our diversity and build on the strength of all of our cultures.
