Our Heights Elementary families are amazing!
Mr. Morucci’s Jump Rope for Heart raised $2434.97 for the American Heart Association. These efforts in a recessionary time show how caring our families truly are! It is a great example to set for our students.

One of the best ways to help your children to be successful in school is to read with them every night. A good start to beginning this routine is to TURN OFF THE TV. Statistics show that the average American watches, on average, 4 hours per day. Take the plunge, turn off the TV and grab a good book.

December 2011

The holiday season is a busy time. It is time for gift giving and family feasts. The following quote reminds us to stop and be thankful for not just holiday gifts, but for the people in our lives who make our lives richer by their presence.

“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it.”

-Ralph Marston

October 2011

Our Parent/Teacher conferences are much earlier this year! They will be held October 17-21. The teachers wanted to meet with parents sooner to review our goals for your children. Mastery of grade level standards requires a partnership with parents, teachers and students. The teachers will be sharing these standards with you, as well and talking about your child’s progress so far this year. Please plan to attend this VERY IMPORTANT meeting to make sure your child is on track for a successful year.

We are looking forward to a year of academic excellence. Please help your children by looking in their backpacks every night. Help them organize their homework assignments and make sure they return their work on time to their teachers. Your support is necessary for your child’s success.
