No Child Left Behind (NCLB)- Supplemental Educational Services

No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act was created to ensure that all students have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach at a minimum, proficiency on state content standards. One of the most beneficial aspects of NCLB is the Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program, which provides free tutoring to eligible students. Tutoring includes individual attention outside the regular school hours.
Eligible students are those receiving free or reduced meals and attending a school that has been categorized as a Program Improvement School for two or more years. If the request for free tutoring exceeds the available funding, priority is given to the lowest-performing students who qualify for free or reduced meals.
